Taylor Swift has officially wrapped up the U.S. leg of her Eras Tour with three unforgettable shows in Indianapolis. As she heads to Canada, here are the top highlights from her final American performances.
The singer-songwriter kicked off the final leg of her tour on October 18, more than 18 months after it first launched in March 2023. Since then, the Eras Tour has gone on to become the highest-grossing concert tour of all time. When it finishes this December, Swift will have completed 149 concerts.
The 34-year-old performed three consecutive shows in Indianapolis, from November 1 to November 3. The tour achieved another impressive milestone when it sold out the Lucas Oil Stadium on the first night, drawing an audience of 69,000—the largest crowd ever for a concert at the venue.
These shows marked her last Eras Tour shows in the U.S. To celebrate, Newsweek has rounded up the highlights from Swift's Indianapolis concerts, which included an appearance from boyfriend Travis Kelce.
Newsweek emailed a spokesperson for Swift for comment on Monday outside of normal business hours.
American Leg Ends in Indianapolis
During her opening comments on Sunday night, Swift said that the final show in Indianapolis marked the end of her Eras Tour in the U.S.
"We have spent the year taking this show all over the world—we went to Australia, we went to Asia, spent all summer in Europe, and I don't know if anyone knows this in this room, but, in case you didn't, the very last U.S. show the Eras Tour will ever play is right here in Indianapolis, Indiana. … We weren't done yet because we hadn't played Indy yet," the singer said.
She also informed the audience that the event had broken the all-time attendance record at Lucas Oil Stadium, "which is such a nice way to welcome people, you know? Such a nice gift for you to give us."
Swift will perform in Toronto next before ending the tour in Vancouver on December 8.
Travis Kelce Attends Night Two
A video of Kelce leaving Swift's second Indianapolis show while being followed by a camera crew has gone viral, strengthening theories that the pop superstar is filming a documentary about her record-breaking tour.
Former The Bachelorette star Ali Manno née Fedotowsky shared a video to her Instagram story of Kelce walking past her while at the show and being filmed as he did so. Whenever the Kansas City Chiefs tight attends the Eras Tour, he leaves the audience early so he can greet Swift when she gets off stage.
"Travis Kelce just walked by me and Molly. And yes, the song means we lasted till the very end!" Manno wrote over her video as Swift sang "Karma" in the background. "Goins hang till the end to support our girl."
The video was shared by the X account (formerly Twitter) Taylor Swift Updates, which wrote in the caption: "Travis Kelce leaving the show while being followed by a camera crew!" At the time of writing, it had been viewed more than 536,800 times.
This isn't the only clip of Kelce at the concert on Saturday that has gone viral. A video on TikTok showed the tight end smiling and dancing to "So High School" alongside Swift's mom, Andrea Swift. At the time of writing, the video had been viewed over 410,000 times.
Technical Issues
On Friday night, while Swift was in the middle of the Midnights portion of the evening, the singer suffered a technical mishap on stage. In videos circulating online, Swift pulled up her sparkly T-shirt dress, revealing her sparkly leotard underneath, while she was singing "Lavender Haze" so that she could try to fix the issue.
While the exact nature of the technical malfunction was unclear, eventually, a crew member had to come out mid-song to help her. Showing her professionalism, Swift never stopped singing, with one fan posting a video on X that shows the superstar keeping the beat by tapping her foot.
According to Billboard, Swift took a moment before "Mastermind" to make sure all of her tech was working, telling the crowd: "Thank you for being patient. We on the Eras Tour play a lot of rain shows, and we never quite know when our equipment is going to break. Could be that night, could be a few shows later. You guys are the best."
Gifts '22' Hat
During Swift's concert on Saturday, the singer gifted to 7-year-old Eloise—whom the singer met on livestream when the child was just a baby—her fedora in the middle of her song "22." The pop superstar has created a tradition of gifting her hat to young fans during the show.
Eloise's connection to Swift dates back to 2017, when Swift unexpectedly joined Eloise's mother Cindy's Instagram Live. Cindy, introducing her newborn to followers, was shocked to see Swift commenting live. "ELOISE," Swift wrote, adding, "She's a tiny baby, and I'll totally meet her and A when they're not 3 months old and just trying to get some rest."
Seven years later, Swift's wish came true. According to Taylor Swift Updates, while the singer was on stage, she told Eloise, "I knew you since you were a baby." The touching moment ended with a hug between the superstar and her longtime fan.
